For Gloria’s wedding, we used silky flowers as part of the tablescape decor. After tons of trials and errors using various online tutorials, I decided to take bits and pieces from a few of them and try my luck with my own version.
Needle and thread
Embellishment for center
Cut six circles of fabric, (more or less depending upon the size you want the flower to be) making smaller circles with each cut.
Hold the fabric near the heat of the flame, careful not to allow the flame to touch the fabric.
Rotate the circle as it begins to curl.
Repeat with each circle.
Once all the circles are curled, layer them and sew a few stitches in the center from the bottom through the top to secure each circle.
Hot glue embellishment into the center. I used pearl buttons for these.
After the wedding, I’ve used them for pretty displays at home.
Try as I might, I could not get a picture of these that is true to the actual color. They are a soft peach color, not nearly as orange as they appear in these photos.
Have you made these? Do you have a different method?
