I’ve recently seen several recipes for spiced pecans. Lots of them looked great, but many of them called for cloves, pumpkin spice or egg whites. I’m not a fan of cloves or pumpkin and I wasn’t sure about the need for egg whites. So, what do you do when you don’t find just what you’re looking for? You create your own version!

2 cups of pecans, halved
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbs sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
For the Glaze~
1 Tbs Gold Rum
1 Tbs butter
1 Tbs Vanilla Extract
1 tsp brown sugar
Preheat over to 350
Spread the pecans on a baking sheet
Bake for 7-8 minutes. Check for browning.
In a medium bowl, mix together the salt, sugar and cinnamon. Set aside
In a medium sauce pan, add all ingredients for the glaze. Heat on medium, stirring constantly until the mixture boils. Add the pecans and stir into the mixture to coat.
Add the pecans to the sugar, salt and cinnamon mixture and stir until all the pecans are well covered.
Spread pecans on baking sheet to cool.
Store in an airtight container.
Quick and easy and full of flavor!
