This is the third of our series of posts we’re calling One Good Thing. Each Friday, we will be choosing one good thing from the week prior to highlight. While lots of good things can be found throughout the week, this is a place to spotlight one in particular. It might be something as simple as a great meal we had or a blog post that particularly inspired us. It could be something awesome that happened in our lives or in the world around us. It might be something related to our blog. Some will be from Gloria and some from Beverly. They will all be short snippets of what made us stop and think, “Well that was a good thing!” We would love to have anyone share with us their own One Good Thing.

This week’s One Good Thing is the abundant love that is flowing! It’s been heartwarming to read about so many lovely gestures that people take the time to do for others. Valentine’s Day is often a day that those in one corner will say is nothing more than a commercialized holiday designed to make the consumer spend money. To that I say, Bah! The day is whatever you choose to make it.
Valentine’s Day is a day we set aside to celebrate love. To those who say “I don’t need a day to show my loved ones that I love them,” you’re absolutely right. We don’t need such a day. But how can there be anything wrong with devoting a day to the celebration of all the love we have in our lives?
It’s not the one day out of the year to show love. It’s simply a day in mid February that we give our attention to celebrating the love we have year round. To me, anything that is about love is definitely One Good Thing.
Happy Valentine’s Day. May the love you celebrate fill your heart!
