You know those times when life is so busy with important tasks that there is simply no time for the extra things you want to get done? Yes? I imagine we all have those times. The last couple of weeks have been like that for Gloria and me. We haven’t managed to keep up with blogging over these last two weeks. Sometimes life is a little bit crazy and lots of things seem to command attention all at the same time.
In the midst of Gloria and Matthew closing on their home, my brother moved to Charleston. I’m thrilled that he’s here and have been helping him get settled in to his new place during the day. Every evening, I’ve been helping Gloria and Matthew. Crazy days! Our wedding anniversary was also last week, so that was another busy day.
Gloria has mentioned on the blog that she works for a non-profit organization, The Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy. This is an amazing organization that serves as a “ministry of presence” during times of need in the Charleston area. The staff and chaplains of the Chaplaincy have been working tirelessly to coordinate resources and minister to those impacted by the tragic event that took place in Charleston last week. The Huffington Post included the Chaplaincy in an article focusing on how to help Charleston after the church shooting.
Naturally, Gloria has a heavy heart as she tries to balance the joy and hard work of moving in to her new home with the solemn tasks she faces each day at work.
While we have given our blog and all that blogging entails little attention over the last few weeks, we have both been stretching ourselves to keep up with this thing called life, Gloria more so than I.
