There are lots of recipes out there for variations of traditional Rice Krispie Treats. I’ve never been a big fan of just plain ones. Most of the time, they seem a little dry to me. When I saw a recipe that used peanut butter, I thought that sounded like a tasty alternative. These are so easy to make and take very little time.
These little snacks are packed with flavor and unlike some treats like these, they are not super sticky. I first saw this recipe called No Bake Avalanche Cookies being shared on my news feed on Facebook. I followed the link to Cookies and Cups . The original recipe calls for white chocolate, but I didn’t have any of that on hand. I did have a bag of Wilton Candy Melts, so I decided to try those. They worked great.
You’ll only need four ingredients to make these.
2 Cups of Crispy Rice Cereal
1 cup of Mini Marshmallows
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1 package Vanilla Candy Melts
Easy to Make Directions~
Line two backing sheets with parchment paper.
Mix together cereal and marshmallows in a large mixing bowl.
Melt candy melts in a double boiler or in the microwave.
Add the peanut butter to the melted candy and stir.
Add mixture to the cereal and marshmallows.
Stir until well blended.
Using a teaspoon, scoop out small portions and place on parchment paper.
Refrigerate for approximately thirty minutes.
Remove from refrigerator and store in an air tight container.
Crispie Rice Cereal
Add in the mini marshmallows.
Melt the Candy Melts in the microwave or in a double boiler. Once melted, stir in the peanut butter.
Add the melted mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until it’s well combined.
Depending on how large you make each treat, this will yield 24 to 36 pieces.
These don’t take long at all to make and their are tasty bite size snacks.
If you’re looking for a quick and easy treat and you love peanut butter, give these a try!
