I’ve been sharing lots of decor items and furniture makeovers that have transformed a very nondescript guest room into an inviting, coastal room. When I decided to give this room its makeover, I was determined to do so on a very small budget. I wanted to keep the cost around $100. I’m happy to say that I did just that! Here’s the final look. I hope you all have enjoyed this series of posts. I’ve had so much fun with this transformation!
I’m not sure what happened to my before pictures of the bed. But, it was a basic walnut stained bed. I like the lines of the headboard and thought that all it needed to fit into the coastal room was a coat of paint. I used Glidden Grab-N-Go in Antique White.
I already had the bedspread, ruffle and most of the pillows. I purchased the starfish pillow at Home Goods.
I bought the green blanket, the runner and new curtains at Marshalls. The curtains have light green stripes on them, but try as I might, I couldn’t get a good picture of them. The waste basket is a simple plastic one that I added rope and a shell to so that it would fit into the coastal look.
I’m really happy with how the bed looks now. It fits right in and adds to the light, coastal feel of the room.
I painted this small table to hold a few of the decor pieces.
The painting that was the inspiration piece for the room had the perfect color pallet for a coastal makeover.
Most of the decor pieces for the room were either upcycles from Goodwill or repurposed items from around my house. These projects were all done with my budget in mind.
