Welcome to the 2017 Ornament Exchange & Blog Hop! We are excited to participate for the third year in the annual ornament exchange. Erlene from My Pinterventures organizes it each year and she does a wonderful job! This year, there are 47 amazing bloggers participating in the exchange. The rules of the challenge were simple: be partnered with a fellow blogger, create a handmade ornament for $15 or under, create a tutorial to share to exchange, and ship the ornament off to a new home! This is always so much fun to be a part of. You’re invited to add your own handmade Christmas ornament to the link party!
This year, I was partnered with Maureen from Red Cottage Chronicles. Maureen’s style of tree is similar to that of our main family tree. It’s filled with memories and ornaments that her family loves. After we exchanged details about the kind of ornaments we love, I was excited to make an old fashioned quilted ornament for Maureen.

These ornaments have been around for a long time, but I’ve never tried making one until now. They are easy to make and the best part about them is that depending upon the fabric you choose, they can go with any color scheme or style of tree. Maureen mentioned that she tends to go with traditional Christmas colors. Keeping that in mind, I made an ornament for her using bright red and green.

There are a lot of steps for making a Quilted Christmas Ornament, but it’s not difficult to make. I made one to practice with before making this one for the Ornament Exchange. The first one took me about an hour and a half to make. The second one came together in less than an hour. Practice definitely helps!
I hope Maureen will enjoy the ornament!
I can’t wait to see all of the handmade ornaments from the exchange and I’m looking forward to seeing others that will be linked up, too!Love handmade ornaments? Stop by #2017OrnamentExchange! Add your ornament to the party! Click To Tweet
