I enjoy changing up this framed chalkboard seasonally. Most recently, it had a spring time look to it. Now that the weather has warmed up-we’re hitting ninety degrees in Charleston this week- it’s time for a summer chalkboard. Gloria and I both live in flip flops for much of the year, but with this heat, it’s definitely flip flop season! I didn’t use any special chalkboard transfer methods. It’s quicker and easier to just hand letter it. It might not look uniform, but it works for me! I’m all about simple projects and this one delivers on that!
I’m always trying to think of easy ways to add coastal touches to my decor. This Coastal Candle Holder from a Terra Cotta Pot was a quick and easy DIY way to do that. The cost was low and it’s a fun little decor piece. It didn’t take long at all to put together.
Coastal Vanity Box ~ Thrift Store Find Makeover. I’ve been lucky lately to have found some thrift store items that are just right for makeovers. I wanted to add a little more coastal decor to our guest bath and I was looking for a small box that could be used as a vanity box with a few items that our guests might need. I found a box that was just the right size. It just needed a makeover to fit in with the decor.
Lately, I’ve found a new love of copper accessories for my kitchen. For a while, I had been admiring various pieces while out shopping, but I’d stop myself from buying anything because I just didn’t think I could make it match my decor. I decided to buy some utensil holders and that’s how my copper kitchen accessorizing began in November. Since then, I’ve been buying more pieces, but I also found copper spray paint. That meant I needed to hit the thrift stores and find some items that could easily be given makeovers. Now that seasonal decor has been put away, it was time to refresh my breakfast nook tablescape. While it’s feeling a lot like spring in Charleston already, it’s not quite time for spring decor.
